Representing GATA:

Melanie Mills served as one of four panelists at the SCAD  Museum of Art Creactive Family Day in Savannah.  The community event was created to emphasize the health benefits of incorporating art and physical activity.

Cyndie Westrich, a long-time GATA member and former Board member, has moved to the Philadelphia area.  Cyndie can still be contacted at theeasel@bellsouth.net.  We wish Cyndie the best in her new endeavors.

Margaret McSwain gave a presentation at the NE Ga Trauma Conference given by the Children’s Center for Hope and Healing, June 28.  The organization serves families who are survivors of sexual abuse, in 13 counties in NE Georgia.

Gayle Torres worked in the Art Therapy Rooms for children and adolescents at the 20th International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation Conference, the weekend of July 18.  The conference included treatment providers, researchers and participants with OCD.

Amanda Maher presented to the Psychology Club at Georgia Perimeter College and
briefly discussed the history of art therapy, went over art as therapy vs.
art psychotherapy, touched on all of Wadeson's six advantages of art therapy,
and we had an experiential. The group was really into the presentation, and the Psychology Club has invited GATA to return next year to present again! They have also
offered to do an art materials drive for GRH.

Please let us know what great things you are doing!
