On May 14, 2015, GATA hosted a reception and lecture with Art Therapy Pioneer, Dr. Judith Rubin. The next day, Dr. Rubin led an all day workshop focused on art and puppetry for trauma in therapy, for professional from all areas of mental health services.

GATA president, Teresa Woodruff noted:  "The Judith Rubin workshop was an wonderful experience. Judy herself said that it was incredibly well-organized and that “Georgia does it right!” Watching her work with Mr. Carl Rogers was inspiring. He was so gentle, understood children so well, and his statements to children taught parents how to speak to their own children.  I hope we can have more workshops like this in the near future!"

We look forward to collaborating with Dr. Rubin again and thank her for gracing us with her presence in Georgia!
