Will my ATR-BC credentials be enough for me to get a job as an art therapist?

Good question! And a hot topic for AATA and training programs. In Georgia, holding an ATR-P,  ATR or ATR-BC is typically enough to obtain a job (some settings do require additional credentials or licenses). In some states, an additional license is needed in addition to having art therapy credentials.

Some art therapists have chosen to get their license in professional counseling (LPC), which required taking extra coursework for most of them.

There is currently no art therapy licensure in the state of Georgia.
