You will need the minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited or approved art therapy program. Prerequisites for graduate programs typically require coursework in psychology and studio art. Master's level coursework includes studies in psychology, art, art therapy, practicum experience, and typically a thesis paper or research project to complete your degree requirements.
